Scotland's Highlands and North Coast

There is a small island, Ard Neakie, jutting out into Loch Eriboll that is attached by a crescent-shaped causeway to the eastern shore. To the left of the house are old limestone kilns. The lime was used in the 1800s as a neutralising agent when reclaiming peaty soils for cultivation.
